Try a hand at defeating facehuggers, chestbursters, warriors, and a wide range of other gruesome aliens as you assume the identity of Ellen Ripley in the 1993 side-scrolling, platform game, Alien. Fight your way through six levels based on events loosely taken from the movie. Guide Ellen, as she manuevers through each level on a mission she accepts from one of the many centrally located computer terminals. Each mission includes specific tasks such as repairing fuse boxes, welding doors shut, rescuing prisoners, and destroying the alien eggs. After Ellen completes all of the missions in one level, you will receive a password that advances you to the next level. Oh, and do not forget about the mother aliens, who are the egg layers and the queen, better known as the “Alien Queen”. You might want to arm yourself with a variety of weaponry and equipment. You can use a flamethrower, pulse rifle with grenades and bullets, a welder, and the motion scanner. Upon reaching the end of the game, the alien queen is pushed into molten lead by a piston and Ripley. This horror movie inspired game, developed by Probe Software, takes a third-person perspective with a female protagonist. It is a single player system compatible with SNES gaming platforms.
